Ahhh Duuhhhh!

One thing Norah has been saying for a while is "Ahhh Duuuhhhhh" (all done). It was first just associated with eating, and was the first word to replace sign language. But she has really caught on to the meaning. She now says it when:

- anyone else is done with their meal (we hear it almost every morning when we finish our bowls of cereal and again when Seth finishes his toast)

- songs come to an end on the CD that we listen to at least once a day in the car. The funny thing is that she says it when the song is about to finish - not during the pause between songs. I guess that tells you how frequently we listen to it. (See more below about songs.)

- we put down a lap top "lid"

- she is cuddled up just before bed, nearly sleeping, and the song on her CD ends

More on Songs

There are a few funny things Norah does along with the CD that we listen to in the car (thanks Gerbs and Birky!). The first is that she starts clapping when she hears "B-I-N-G-O" or "If Your Happy and You Know it" begin - both songs that involve clapping. The second is that she giggles at the end of one particular song every time. The third is that she clearly does not prefer some songs, and fusses until we change it to the next one. And the fourth is that she has started singing along with one particular song. It goes:

"Five little speckled frogs, sitting on a speckled log, eating a most delicious fly, yu, yu, yu, yu, yu, yum..."

She sings along with the "yum" part.
