Thanksgiving Weekend and Breakfast with Santa

We felt very lucky to have some out of town family visiting for Thanksgiving - grandma and grandpa Garber from Indiana and aunt Von and uncle Dave from Denver. We were all together on Friday at our house for a traditional meal and then Sunday gathered once again at Lisa and Scott's. Here are some pictures from the day.

TJ and Luka have always been so great with Norah. In this picture TJ is helping her put her shoes on. It has been really fun to see the kids interacting more as Norah gets more into the toddler stage and the gap between them seems smaller. 

While she was at our house "great grandma" fixed Norah's "roar," which had developed a hole at the neck. She has not forgotten who fixed him, and just today announced to a friend who was over that "Great grandma fixed it roar."

Breakfast with Santa

One of the annual events our neighborhood mom's group puts on is breakfast with Santa. As with many of the neighborhood events, it is held at the local elementary school, which is just 3 blocks from our house. 

I mentioned to Norah on Friday that we were going to have breakfast with Santa Claus and she said, "No santa, no santa." I had no idea where she was getting her negative feelings about Santa, and little did I know it was a sign of what was to come. She loved the breakfast and crafts...but not so much Santa. We waited in line, but as you can see in the pictures she did not want to get within a foot of the big scary bearded guy in the red suit. Oh well. 

The event overall was simple, but nice. They had four tables set up with various crafts (including one with paper for kids to write letters to santa), Christmas music playing, breakfast and coffee.

Yep - still loving' the new neighborhood...

While waiting in line I was showing her how all of the kids were sitting on Santa's lap...

...but it didn't help much when it came to be our turn...

Her favorite part by far was the miniature candy cane and sticker that she received when we were done.
