A favorite activity of late is hide and seek. It goes something like this:
Macy runs out to the living room and counts - 1, 2, 3, 5 ,6, 8, 9, 10 (teeennnnnnn!). She runs to Norah's bedroom, looks under the bed, but no Norah. She hears a noise from the closet and catches on. She tries to open the door (is just learning how), and if she can't open it herself Norah comes out willingly.
Much squealing. And then a bit more squealing.
"My turn hide," Macy says, as she immediately heads toward whatever hiding place Norah just left.
Norah runs out to the living room and counts - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - ready or not, here I come!
She then runs back to her room, pretends to try to find Macy under the bed, behind the door, and on the top bunk. Meanwhile Macy gets a bit antsy (in the dark closet all by herself without the ability to open the door and come out), and starts calling/crying, "In here No-wah!"
We have been taking some videos, but our girls love to run around in nothing but their diaper/underwear, so unfortunately the videos aren't something we will be posting.
Other activities include:
- "Playing sleeping," which involves setting up mats (blankets or pillows) for them to lay down and pretend to be sleeping on. AMAZING how much time they spend doing this.
- Putting friends to sleep - laying blankets out (ALL over our living room) and putting friends (stuffed animals) on each one so they can go to sleep.
- Coloring or painting at the kitchen table.
- Playing with baby dolls.
- Doing a whole lot of we-have-no-idea-what, and frankly don't care as long as they are playing nicely together.
Norah tends to get a bit bossy, and it seems as though we are entering a new phase in which Macy does not appreciate being bossed around. Still trying to figure out how all that will work out - it's a bit of a wake-up call for Norah since she can no longer have everything go her way.
Looks like we may be in store for a typical sister relationship...
