7 Months!

Norah turned 7 months old on Friday. Seth's baby notes say:

"At 7 months Seth can sit without support and can get down on his stomach from a sitting position. He creeps around some by using his arms. He loves to tear up old magazines and initiates the game of peek-a-boo by holding something over his eyes. He says da-da-da-da but it doesn’t seem to be connected to his father."

Norah is at a similiar stage developmentally to where Seth was at 7 months, at least when it comes to mobility. She is sitting up really well without any support (although we still put something behind her in case she falls back). She does end up on her stomach sometimes, although I'm not sure that it is at all intentional. We have also noticed lately that she manages to scoot around quite a bit to get to something that peaks her interest. We often lay her down on a blanket on the living room floor, but she typically ends up several feet away licking the wooden floor.

Norah loves peek-a-boo and pulls things off her head to keep the game going. Sometimes, when laying on the floor, after getting our attention and receiving a big smile, she burries her head in the floor, kicks her feet, and squeals with delight. It becomes a bit of a game and she does it over and over again.

At 7 months Norah is eating solids at least once a day. So far she has had sweet potatoes, carrots, avacado, bananas and apples (and of course prunes - see previous post). I am making all of her food and plan to continue doing so.

Norah doesn't seem to want to miss out on anything. For example, today in the car she fell asleep just minutes before arriving at the grocery store. When we both got out of the car she appeared to be out cold, but just seconds later when we opened the back door to get her out she was wide eyed, smiling, and ready to go. At daycare they said they have to feed her facing out so she can keep an eye on everything that is going on.

Overall Norah continues to be what I would consider a fairly easy and very content baby. She makes Seth and me smile whenever she is in the room. We agreed tonight that she is simply precious.
