A Father's Love

We've been having some constipation issues. Actually, that is the understatement of the year. And in case you don't believe me, just take a look at this picture.

There were some real signs for us that she was constipated. Without going into ALL of the details, we were waking up several times a night to her fussing, only to find she was grunting in between the fusses. Unfortunatley the grunting, both at night and during the day, was not leading to much productivity. Her little tummy was distended and her behind red and sore. We quickly introduced prunes into her diet and it definitely helped. After being constipated most of the week we think she is back on track. It is obviously linked to starting solids, so after giving her nothing but prunes for a few days we're cautiously introducing other solids again. I think we'll continue with the prunes as well, however.

Two nights in a row, the grunting began during Norah's bath. The first night not much came of it, but the second night I was in the kitchen and Seth calmly said, "Hey babe - do you think you could come help me?" Needless to say, we had some clean up to take care of. I took Norah out of the tub while Seth "freshened" things up. Turns out his part of the clean up included scooping the "floaties" out of the tub with his hands and putting them in the toilet. (For the record, Seth says they were actually sinkers, not floaties.)

Ahhh....a father's love...
